The 1000 also features Sprung Rubber between the frame and grommets to reduce impact vibration and improve feel. The LX 1000 features an eye grabbing Dual Bridge System to create more power and comfort from the 115 square inch head. It has been included in the powerful LX frames, and the LX 800 specifically gets Hybrar grommets to further reduce racquet vibration. Dunlop’s CX line from earlier this year introduced us to Flex Touch Resin, a thermoplastic elastomer compound which give the racquets greater vibration absorbing qualities. Both models feature oversize heads, and an extra half inch in length so they will provide more power, particular for players with a shorter swing style.
TENNIS RACQUET FRAME VIBRATION SERIES
The LX series puts the focus squarely on power. The line includes the LX 800, and the LX 1000. Dunlopĭunlop’s racquet revamp continues with their new LX series frames. There is a third TF-X1, the 275, and it has a larger hitting area of 105 square inches. X-Damp is built into the racquet handle and it combines silicone elastomer and stainless steel to filter out harmful low frequency vibrations.
What separates the TF-X1s from most other tweener frames, is the X-Damp technology. The idea is to make the entire racquet surface more usable, instead of just the exact center. These two frames feature a more round 100 square inch head than Tecnifibre typically has, and a new cross section design to improve string performance when you miss the sweet spot. The line includes the TF-X1 300, and TF-X1 285. Though the T-Flash racquets are no more, Tecnifibre has launched the new TF-X1 racquets to give power a new feel. Expect Matteo Berrettini to be using the Extreme Nite in the summer hard court events. The Extreme Tour, used on tour by Italian star Lorenzo Musetti, has a thinner beam, and smaller head size to focus more on control. The MP, endorsed by Matteo Berrettini, is probably HEAD’s most spin friendly racquet with an open 16×19 string pattern and forgiving 100 square inch head. The Extreme MP and Tour versions get the blacked out look, along with a nice matching bag. HEAD doubles down on all things Extreme with the new Extreme Nite racquet collection. The 97H is the heaviest model and is over 12 ounces unstrung! HEAD The 97D features a dense 18×20 string pattern and a sturdier weight of 11.3 ounces unstrung. Of the four models, the 100 is only 10.6 ounces unstrung and a little bit more forgiving than the 97s. The VCORE PROS are endorsed on tour by Stan Wawrinka, Frances Tiafoe, and recent Wimbledon semifinalist Hubert Hurkacz. The thicker beams offer improved stability and a bit more punching power. The three 97 models feature a slightly thicker 21 mm cross section, while the 100 gets bumped from 21 mm to 23 mm.
TENNIS RACQUET FRAME VIBRATION PRO
Included in the series are the VCORE PRO 97, 97H, 97D, and 100. Yonex included their Vibration Dampening Mesh inside the handle to ensure the VCORE PRO racquets play comfortably. The aforementioned Flex Fuse technology places a shock absorbing polymer within the graphite layers to create a softer flex with a more plush feel.
The VCORE PROS get a new tapered and elongated box-frame shaft is composed of Flex Force and Flex Fuse graphite for precise control of the ball.
